Why work with me?

Firstly hello, I’m Katy, the Business ImpleMentor: Accountability and business strategist. My mission is to support ambitious entrepreneurs who are feeling overwhelmed and out of control to implement a step by step business and marketing strategy that works around their life, so they can make more money and have the time and freedom to enjoy doing what they really love.

So how did I get here, why me? Why am I the person who can help you?

Well before starting my own business in 2013 as a wedding cake designer, I worked at a marketing agency in the West End. I started as the receptionist after graduating from Bath University, and during my 12 years there covered everything from accounts, HR, office management to project management and marketing.

The time I spent learning every aspect of how the agency ran made it easier for me to start my own business, I had experience of how to run a business rather than just being able to do the thing that “is the business”, making the cakes. And this is where a lot of businesses come unstuck… they are great at what they do… but have no real knowledge of what they need to do to run the business.

Being an entrepreneur and running your own business is a very different life to the corporate world of salaried employment. It comes with many different challenges and requires a different mindset. When you own your own business you are also a marketeer, an accountant, a sales person, project manager… the list goes on… and at times juggling all of these different hats can be overwhelming.

This is where I come in. Over the last 20 plus years, the knowledge I have acquired and my natural ability to break things down and explain them simply means I can help. And helping people is what makes me happy and why I decided to share my knowledge and start Piece of Cake Coaching. I can help you to sort through the noise and create a clear actionable plan to achieve your goals. Solving any problems that pop up along the way. Helping you to get organised, manage your time more efficiently, and gain an understanding of the online social media world and how to market your business.

And more importantly provide the support that is so often missing when we are a solopreneur. Being in business can feel lonely, but it doesn’t have to, I am here to help take you through the steps – together.
